Dr. Aitzaz Ahsan Alias Sarang

I founded Sustain NetZero Advisory on two convictions.

The first is simple: that turning sustainability ambition into verifiable action is the most meaningful work of our time.

The second is about how that work must be done. As an academic and faculty member, I believe knowledge must travel in both directions, from practice into the classroom, and from classroom thinking back into industry. I built Sustain NetZero Advisory on that philosophy. I bring together academic researchers, seasoned faculty, and experienced industry practitioners, united not by a single credential but by a shared commitment to evidence-based thinking and real-world impact.

My commitment is simple: every organisation my team and I work with should feel the difference that genuine rigour makes.

My vision. Your partner in transition.

Through my research and practice, I have had the privilege of working with organisations at every stage of their sustainability journey. What I wanted to build was a firm that meets them where they are, brings rigour and internationally recognised standards to their efforts, and walks alongside them in turning today’s sustainability commitments into tomorrow’s net zero reality.

I founded Sustain NetZero Advisory on a simple conviction: that turning sustainability ambition into verifiable action is the most meaningful work of our time. My commitment is to bring the same rigour I bring to research into every advisory and training engagement we deliver.

How I see my role

As a partner in transition. My role is to work alongside organisations, to help them structure and strengthen the sustainability work they are already doing, and to bring credibility and measurability to their efforts.

What guides my practice

IFRS S1 and S2, GRI, TCFD, and GHG Protocol are reshaping how organisations communicate their sustainability performance. My advisory work is grounded in these frameworks, ensuring every engagement delivers credible, decision-useful results.

What I bring to every engagement

Published academic research, hands-on training experience, and board-level governance perspective. I believe that honest, evidence-based guidance is the foundation of any meaningful sustainability transition.
